Effect: Total loss of service for all UberNetworks customer outside of the Whangarei CBD Details:
Dear UberNetworks customers
Please be aware that at 10:40a.m this morning we experienced loss of power due to a car accident that destroyed a roadside transformer.
The local power company has taken steps to restore power and in the interim we have installed a battery backup system to power our equipment for the next 3 days whilst the issue is resolved.
As at 12pm service was restored.
It is likely that our service will experience a short outage when we switch back to mains power.
We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.
Regards

In response to popular demand we are excited to announce that you can now purchase additional ‘data blocks'.
At any time during your billing month you can now purchase an additional 'data block' for the remainder of that billing cycle. Data blocks can be purchased by calling us. We offer several payment options and there is no limit to the number of data blocks you can buy.
If you don't want to purchase any additional data once you've used your monthly data allowance, we'll just ease you back to dial-up speeds and you won't have to pay anything extra.
How much does additional data cost?
Below is our data block charge rates. Note: You are only able to purchase data blocks relative to your current plan speed.
| Plan speed | Data Block | Cost |
| 2Mbit/sec | 1Gbyte | $4.95 |
| 3Mbit/sec | 1Gbyte | $5.95 |
| 4Mbit/sec | 1Gbyte | $6.95 |
| 5Mbit/sec | 1Gbyte | $7.95 |
How do I know when I have reached my data cap?
An email will be sent to your registered email address when you have used 50%, 80% and 100% of your plan's data cap.
Due to increasing demand for our kickass service, we have upgraded several of our primary network links between towns.
This has resulted in several outages recently for some customers in the Dargaville and Helena Bay areas.
We apologise for the outages but do hope you enjoy our impressive broadband service, which can only be continued by us making these regular improvements.
For more information about the upgrades performed, you can call us on 09 438 5472.
Thanks for your patience,
UberNetworks Network Development/Maintenance Team

Uber is proud to be Locally Owned and Operated we try wherever possible to support local businesses and local communities. With this in mind we have offered a couple of our walls to local Northland artists - they get to promote their work and we get to enjoy the ever changing artwork around us. All the artworks are for sale. We don’t take a commission - if you’re interested in purchasing any of the works we’ll provide you with the contact details to deal directly with the artist. Each month we’ll feature a new artist; this month we have Sugalu – an artist from Kerikeri who is inspired by her Polynesian ancestry. We have 4 of Sugalu’s bright colourful framed paintings on Tapa cloth - please drop in and enjoy the artworks.
